The world of architecture, with a strong desire to transform space and build new formations, begins with people. How they feel, think and communicate are invisible and powerful underlying structures, waiting to be discovered.

Based on conversations exploring the idea of ‘Where do we call home?’ this book brings together an assemblage of visual and verbal expressions.

Each person connecting to the theme through a new lens, an architecture professor, an architect and a social activist have been interviewed. Concurrently with the interviews, Leyla began her exploration for the overarching question of home, photographing in over 15 different locations in New York.

After gathering the visuals with the interviews, a new narrative forms through interlacing words with imagery. The typographic forms, use of space and visuals on each page convey a new language inspired by spatial details.
